Take a Knee
About us
Mission:
Take a Knee Inc. Provides mental health education and support to post-war veterans and their families.
Vision:
With transformative tools, we will help heroes all throughout TN hit the reset button on key relationships, and in doing so, reduce veteran statistics by 50% on the stains of: suicide, homicide, domestic violence, theft, homelessness, divorce, and depression.
Core Values:
GRIT- because it takes courage and strength of character to admit you need help and get it.
Growth: Just as we want the community we serve to grow within themselves and their relationships, we as an organization want to continue to improve our process and ultimately serve more veterans.
Resilience: Serving our country and loving those that served our country requires a level of mental and emotional toughness. We want to foster an environment of safety as we all become more resilient.
Inclusion: Just as we would never leave a fallen comrade on the battlefield, we recognize that many of us for whatever reason are still on or never left that field in our minds. We will offer hope to each one, and opportunities to serve for all who desire to contribute.
Teamwork: Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast. Fast is effective. With a well developed process, we will facilitate activities that create fast families. This will enable veterans and staff to efficiently gain the most from our time together.
The Logo:

"Take a Knee":
In the military, when we are told to "take a knee," it means to take a brief and active rest. It is an opportunity to catch breath, hydrate, reload, take accountability, and be prepared to receive further instructions. We as an organization want our veterans and their support person to finally be able to take a knee.
The Labyrinth:
Participants will learn about the labyrinth.
